Ghosts, Witches, and Curses... Oh, My!

Do you believe in ghosts?
I am pretty sure that I do.
My son's friends are convinced there was one on our home. I will admit that I had seen shadows on occasion and had been startled when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye when everyone was asleep or gone, but dismissed it. But one time his friends were over and watching television in the living room when his girlfriend saw someone enter the kitchen from the hall (it was the same area where I would sometimes see shadows on occasion). She thought it was my son, then my son did come down the hall. It kind of freaked her out so they both went into the kitchen but nobody was there.
His other friends claimed to have seen shadows from the many times they spent the night and no matter how many times we tried to find a reasonable explanation, which we never did, they would not stop believing.
There was also a part of the kitchen that one of the dogs would not go in. It was part of an addition and it could simply be that she could feel the difference in the floor (not that out could tell by looking) when she went through the opening.
Whatever it was, eventually it was not seen again, though it had been present for several years, and someone told me that there is such a thing as s "residual ghost" that over time their energy simply fades away.
Maybe that was it, or maybe we were all jumping at shadows.
Regardless, ghosts have been a fascination of mine for as long as I can remember so maybe that is why when I began writing the Magic & Mayhem books, I started with ghosts before I moved onto witches and other magical creatures (some yet to be written).
However, my first "ghost" story was actually Her Muse, Lord Patrick, followed by three other ghosts stories that make up the Muses Series.
